Feels Like Summer Now
The dog days of summer are finally here, and it feels like it was time. We have had such a mild summer-which we are so grateful for-that we are ready for the heat because we know cooler days will be here soonish. Ask us again though in a few weeks how we are feeling.
Turkeys are arriving soon, which always signals a change in season. Chickens will be out of the pasture soon, so we can make some much-needed repairs to our Mobile Range Coops. We will have a few weeks break from pulling coops every day which is very exciting.
Bulls were let out with our cows last week to begin breeding. We are excited to expand our breed herd this year. One of our goals for our regenerative beef program is to be able to raise all our own cattle from birth, and each year we get a little bit closer to that goal.
We have decided to take the month off from our Sunset Ridge Farmers Market that we attend every Saturday. You can still order for pickup at Sunset Ridge, & it will be waiting for you with one of the other farmers.
We will still be at the rest of our markets and on farm each week! We also deliver every Thursday, too.
We are low on beef right now and will not be fully restocked until September. Cattle did not cooperate last week, and we missed our processing date. And, we will be short-staffed come mid-August as our summer help returns to college, so we figured it's the best time to slow down just a tad before the fall season begins.
And—fingers crossed—we have progress on electricity for our store! We don't know how long this next step will take until contractors come out, but it is progress in the right direction.
School is starting for some of you-much earlier than normal, it seems. Don't forget to stock your freezers with lots of protein for the school year.
You can shop online, and pick a fulfillment that is most convenient for you.
We love spending the Summer months outdoors with our family. One thing we are enjoying this summer is grilling our pastured proteins, straight from the Farm. Unlike store-bought meats, they are free of hormones and chemicals, but full of flavor! 🍖🥩🍗Try some of our favorite products to throw on the grill:
We have a great recipe for Ground Turkey burgers-to switch things up a bit from regular ground beef.
Try it and let us know what you think!
We are so glad you are here with us!
We are truly blessed with your support.
